Sassy Cheryl's Show Me Thursday

Busy week, here.  I've been in an ADD mode, flitting from project to project.
Nothing is DONE, but everything is well underway!

I finally decided to tackle this quilt pattern that I purchased last year from Eat Cake Graphics.  First, the fabrics...well, that was an adventure and a rather expensive undertaking, but now I'm committed to this project!  I spent several days tracing, cutting, ironing pattern pieces...
All nine blocks are reading to be appliquéd.  I'm not trying the technique included with the pattern-though I know it would make for a beautiful quilt...but I would like to finish this in my lifetime and am afraid I'm just not ready for that technique so plan to zig-zag!
I hope to start the zig-zag project next week!  In the meantime, I was pleased to have accomplished the first steps!

Then, I decided to smock.  This is a great sitting in front of the t.v. project.  My husband really likes me to sit with him at night in front of the t.v.  Since I now have my days more or less at my disposal, I try to accommodate this simple request, but honestly, so often, I feel like I'm wasting time!  For the last couple of days, my husband was out of town so one night I went to the movies with a girlfriend and the other two, I worked on piecing the quilt so I haven't quite finished this first smocking project.

I'm getting there!

Now, today, in between chores, I'm card making but you won't see the fruits of my labor 'til challenge time!  You Prisma-Faber Castell ladies, not feeling it!  I tried, but well, was happy to jump back to my lovely Copics!

Oh, and did you hear Sassy Cheryl's BIG news---she has created some rubber images for those of you die hards that prefer rubber over digi-me, I love them all!  She' starting small with two limited editions so if you want them, run on over and pre-order them!  They are available HERE.

  1. Oh my hubby is the same way and it drives me nuts. I can not sit still so I have to do something while watching TV. Right now I am blobbing and watch GOLF/ Yawn Yawn. I love this quilt pattern. Can't wait to see the finished project. I sew a little wobbly, so I think I would do a faster, neater job by hand sewing. (Hate crooked seams and Hate tearing out seams even more) I love the smocked dress too. I remember when my daughter was small, I smocked several dresses for her. I used the machine to smock them though, Love your post today Ann, it is so interesting. Happy weekend.

  5. Ann, the quilt is going be absolutely delightful when finished, and I'd have gone with the zig-zag too. Your smocked bishop is stunning. Love those pastels on the white. I can't wait to see it finished and on Baby B. Sorry you're not feeling the pencils, but you're beyond excellent with the Copics.
